Best time to eat: Open 24 hours, 365 days a year, it is hard to choose a bad time to enjoy grits and a waffle. However, the mornings of game days and anywhere between 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on weekends might mean long waits for a booth or table.
Student Discounts: When the food's cheap already, no discounts are needed. However, because of its location in Tech Square, Waffle House does accept Buzzcard as a form of payment.

The Flying Biscuit
Accessibility: To those of you whom like to see the city at a slow pace, the Flying Biscuit is about a twenty minute walk. You can take Techwood to Tech Square and then take 6th Street to Piedmont NE. The walk is relatively easy and definitely safe. By car, it is 8 minutes. However, for those without the time or luxury of a car, you can ride the Red Marta Train from North Avenue Station (five minute walk from North Avenue Apartments) to the Midtown Station in a minute's time. From Midtown, the walk is about five minutes up 10th Street. A roundtrip on the Marta is $6.00.
Affordability: This place is a little bit pricer, but the quality of food and portions make it worth the money. The Flying Biscuit also provides free wifi which is an added bonus!

West Egg Cafe
Accessibility: This is the farthest walk of the three breakfast places with a total walking distance of about 32 minutes from North Avenue. One would walk Ferst Dr. NW to 8th Street and then take a left onto Howell Mill Road. There is a Marta Bus that will stop right near West Egg Cafe with a ride time of 16 minutes from North Avenue Station. This walk is not as safe as a walk to Midtown, so grab some friends if you plan to do so!
Affordability: While West Egg Cafe is pricier than either of the other two breakfast eateries, you can get a decent meal for about seven dollars. The food is more interesting in ingredients so it might be worth the splurge.
